Add Your Business To Instagram

If you’re interested in using social media platforms to promote your business, adding your company to Instagram is a necessity. It’s one of the fastest growing social tools with over 800 million users and subscribers. 80% of Instagram users subscribe to at least one business Instagram account, and there’s no better way to connect with current and potential customers. Having an account provides individuals with the opportunity to visit your business website or even contact you directly through Instagram messaging services. Use the following steps to add your business to Instagram today.

Step 1: The Set-Up

If you have a personal account with Instagram, you could use that as a business account, altering your handle and content. Our recommended way, however, is to just create a new account with a separate handle for your business.
Either way, you’ll first have to download the app on one of your devices or access the website through a browser. Login to your account and access your profile using the person button at the bottom right of the page.
Click on the three dots at the top of the screen. You should see a “Switch to my Business Profile” button.
[Note: It’s required to have a business page on Facebook if you want to create one on Instagram as well. Instagram will prompt you to create a Facebook business page if you don’t already have one. The good news is that you can manage both business accounts through just your Facebook page!]

Step 2: Setting up Your Business on Instagram

You’ll be redirected to a page advertising the business features on Instagram. Scroll through those options and click “continue” after.

Step 3: Making a Facebook Business Page

Instagram will then take you to a new section asking you to create a Facebook business page. Enter in your details and select the appropriate business category. This should ideally be “local businesses” but you can select whichever typing is most applicable. You’ll have to choose a subcategory afterwards. Click on the blue arrow at the top right of the screen once you’ve finished.
It’s very simple to add your Facebook business page if you already have one.

Step 4: Entering Your Contact Information

After creating the page you’ll be asked to input your business address, email address, and phone number. This information will also be transferred to your Instagram business account. Click on “Done” once you’ve finished.

Step 5: Your Business Profile is Complete!

Instagram will redirect you to your profile, from which you can revise your information by clicking on “Edit Profile”.

Step 6: Actually Editing Your Profile

You can curate and optimize your profile after creating it. Enter in your information into the appropriate sections, including your business description, adding a profile picture, and click on the blue check mark at the top of the screen once your page is complete.
